About

Background

The role of modern mathematics in developing and quantifying physical models can hardly be overstated. In particular, the synergy between mathematical fields (themselves borne out of physical explorations and real-life problems) such as complex analysis and complex dynamics, monodromy of systems of ODE, operator theory and specific models in function theory, as well as much of optimization theory, are all active contributors to developments of physical models which impact concrete developments as impressive as Fractional Quantum Hall effect and its uses in quantum computing, graphene-based devices in nanotechnology, and nonlinear dynamics in the BCS sector of coherent heavy Fermionic cold gases, to mention just a few. This symposium will bring together subject-matter experts in these areas, for a collaborative event primed to create the creative environment which may lead to significant new advances. The symposium, which serves as a specialized session of the 6th International Conference on Computing Innovation and Applied Physics (CONF-CIAP 2027), will focus on mathematics and physical theories.

Goal/Rationale

In this symposium, experts in the areas of operator theory, optimization theory, geometric function theory, and non-commutative geometry will give presentations and collaborate on the problem of existence of a distinguished element of a Banach space satisfying the properties of a “vacuum vector” (a vector which lies in the kernel of the adjoint of an elliptic operator from the Banach algebra, which simultaneously solves an optimization problem) which generates an invariant strict subspace of the Banach space whose unitary representation space is dense in the group of unitary operators acting on the space. This problem has manifold applications to quantum field theory, representation theory, and the theory of Drinfeld modules, to name just a few.

Scope

As indicated above, the main theme of the meeting is rooted in the invariant subspace problem, with an emphasis on its relations to: the classification problem of von Neumann algebras, singular representations of Lie groups, deformation theory for Lie groups, the use of greedy sequences in solving optimization problems which are computationally-hard, and methods from geometric function theory.

Publication

Accepted papers of the symposium will be published in Theoretical and Natural Science (TNS) (Print ISSN 2753-8818), and will be submitted to Conference Proceedings Citation Index (CPCI), Crossref, CNKI, Portico, Google Scholar, and other databases for indexing. The situation may be affected by factors among databases like processing time, workflow, policy, etc.
