Applications of Complex Analysis, Optimization and Integrability to Physical Theories

Dr. Razvan Teodorescu obtained his Ph.D. at the University of Chicago in 2004, working with Paul Wiegmann on applications of integrable models and random matrix theory to the Quantum Hall effect and Laplacian growth. After postdoctoral appointments at Columbia University and Los Alamos National Laboratory, he joined the faculty of the Mathematics Department at the University of South Florida. He is recognized for his work on integrability and constrained stochastic processes, as they arise in strongly- interacting and disordered quantum systems. A member of the London Mathematical Society, he was the recipient of the American Physical Society Professorship Award, the University of South Florida’s Jerome Krivanek Distinguished Teacher Award, and the University of Montreal’s Center for Mathematical Research Leading Young Researcher Award. At the University of South Florida, he serves as Pi Mu Epsilon faculty advisor and directs the STEM for Scholars Summer School.
